Etaples Military Cemetery, Pas-de-Calais, France. Sunday 17-06-1917. Age 47. Son of James & Rose Stannus of "The Elms", Portarlington, Queen's County, Ireland. Husband of E. Stannus (nee Graydon-Smith) of Earls Court Square, London, UK. Native of Ballyboys, Blessington, County Wicklow, Ireland. Served throughout the South African Campaign. Severely wounded during the Gallipoli Campaign, returning to active service in the Autumn 1916, Stone Inscription :- "A Soldier Born A Hero Dead".
