Flatiron Copse Cemetery, Mametz, Somme, France. 15-09-1916. Age 32. Son of the late Major P.F.P Hamilton (Royal Artillery) & Mrs. Hamilton. Husband of Kate G. Hamilton of 42, Eaton Square, London, UK. Arthur Percival Hamilton was commissioned into the Queen’s West Surrey Regiment and while a Captain serving as Adjutant of the 18th Battalion London Regiment (London Irish Rifles) TF was awarded the Military Cross for gallantry during the battle of Loos on the 25th of September, 1915. On the 15th of September, 1916, then a Lieutenant-Colonel serving with the 19th Battalion, Arthur Percival Hamilton was killed in action at High Wood, The Somme, while leading an attack.
