HMS Hardy was a Royal Navy ship that was one of 20 Acasta-class destroyers. Serving during World War I, she was part of the Grand Fleet at the Battle of Jutland. HARDY (was to be named KELPIE 9.13), destroyer, Acasta-class, designated K-class "special boat", H.67 (1914), H.39 (1.18). Launched 10.10.12 Thornycroft. c898-1000 tons, c265(oa), 257(pp)x26x9ft. Turbine 22500shp, 30kts. Armament: 3-4in, 2-21in tt. All class formed 4th DF, Grand Fleet 1914-16, then 4th and 6th DF Portsmouth, Devonport or Dover. Battle Honour Jutland 31 May 1916. Sold 9.5.21 Ward, Briton Ferry.

ROSE,

HMS Meteor was a Thornycroft M-class destroyer. Meteor saw extensive service throughout World War I, maintaining continuous operations both as a convoy escort and in harbour protection. The British and German Forces met on the morning of 24 January in the Battle of Dogger Bank. Meteor led three other destroyers in a torpedo attack against Blücher but was hit by a shell in the forward boiler room which knocked her out of action, killing four and wounding two.

SAUNDERS,

HMS Active was the name ship of her class of three scout cruisers built for the Royal Navy in the 1910s.She played a minor role in the Battle of Jutland on 31 May–1 June. After Jellicoe ordered the Fleet to deploy to port just before it encountered the German fleet, that placed her behind the battleships, unable to engage any German ships. She only fired eight 4-inch rounds during the entire battle. Shortly afterwards, Active was assigned as the leader of the 4th DF, based at Immingham in the Humber.

HMS Nubian was a Royal Navy Tribal-class destroyer. She was launched in 1909 and torpedoed in 1916. Nubian was among the ships that successfully hunted the German submarine SM U8 in March 1915. During the Battle of Dover Strait, on the night of 26–27 October 1916 off Folkestone Nubian's bows were almost severed by a German torpedo that exploded almost under her bridge.

HMS Albatross was an experimental torpedo boat destroyer of the Royal Navy authorised under the 1896–97 Naval Estimates and built by John I. Thornycroft & Company of Chiswick on the River Thames. She was contracted to be faster, larger and more powerful than existing designs. In 1919 she was placed in reserve, awaiting disposal. She was sold on 7 June 1920 to J.W. Houston for breaking at Montrose.

TOWLER,

H.M.S. Wolf was a member of the Seventh Destroyer Flotilla, based at Devonport, in 1913. On the outbreak of the First World War in August 1914, Wolf remained part of the Seventh Destroyer Flotilla, which transferred to the Humber on the East coast of England. By September 1917, Wolf had transferred to the Northern Division of the Coast of Ireland Station, headquartered at Buncrana, carrying out patrols in the North Channel between Scotland and the North of Ireland. Wolf remained operating on the North Channel Patrol until the end of the war. Wolf was sold for scrap on 1 July 1921 to S. Castle of Plymouth.

HMS Brilliant was an Apollo-class cruiser of the British Royal Navy which served from 1893 to 1918 in various colonial posts and off the British Isles as a hastily converted minelayer during the First World War. In April 1918, Brilliant was deliberately scuttled in the mouth of Ostend harbour in Belgium during the failed First Ostend Raid.
