Only child of Henry 'Harry' Lee-Steere & his wife Anna, (nee Gordon-Clark) of Jayes Park, Lake Road, Ockley, Dorking, Surrey, UK. Husband of Mrs. Lee Steere of Jayes Park, Ockley, Surrey, UK. Born 1895 & educated at Eton & Sandhurst before gaining a commission in the Grenadier Guards. Killed in action near Ypres & buried beside his Company Commander Captain Symes-Thompson. This officer is variously desribed as being in 2nd Battalion & 3rd Battalion Grenadier Guards. Although he appears on this page, more evidence of his being part of 2nd Battalion keeps turning up & he may therefore e moved to that page. |
