Etaples Military Cemetery, Pas-de-Calais, France. Thursday 26-04-1917. Age 21. Son of George (a Vet) & Annie Harle of Dunedin Villa, Coldstream, BerwickShire, UK. Native of Coldstream. He is also remembered on a plaque in Coldstream Parish Kirk, on a memorial tablet at Bewickshire High School, Duns & also on the War Memorial at Coldstream. Born 1896 at Coldstream. Stone Inscription :- "Faithful Unto Death".

His Military Cross citation reads " For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty, he led his Company in an attack with great courage and initiative and captured two Machine Guns and 60 prisoners
