Son of Major General Thomas William Sneyd (commanded Queen's Bays from 1877-1881) of Ashcombe Park, Leek, Staffordshire, UK. & Charlotte Marion Repton. Husband of Marianne Callender Brodie (daughter of John Sharp Callender Brodie) of Idvies, Forfar, Scotland, UK. He served in his fathers regiment prior to transferring to the 4th (Extra Reserve) Battalion, Lancashire Fusiliers. Also remembered on a memorial at St. Edward the Confessor Church, Cheddleton, Staffordshire.
