8th (Service) Battalion, (East Belfast), Royal Irish Rifles.
Formed at Belfast in September 1914 from the Belfast Volunteers. On 29th August 1917 the 8th (Service) Battalion, (East Belfast) amalgamated with the 9th (Service) Battalion, (West Belfast to form the 8th/9th Battalion.
